Globi Erlebt Masoala

This children's book, featuring the popular Swiss cartoon character Globi, is similar in style to a travel guide and field guide. It introduces many of the plant and animal species found in Masoala rainforest in Madagascar and the Masoala Kely rainforest exhibit at Zoo Zürich.

Anhand der lustigen Rahmengeschichte erfahren die Kinder viel Wissenswertes und Spannendes über den Regenwald und seine Bewohner, die Tiere, Pflanzen und Insekten. Auch über die Madagassen, die Einwohner Madagaskars wird berichtet.

Die vielfältigen Informationen begleiten die wunderschönen, stimmigen Illustrationen. Das Taschenbuch ist auch ein Reiseführer, das heisst: Zum Mitnehmen und Nachschlagen. Er kann auf dem Spaziergang durch Masoala begleiten oder zu Hause aufkommende Fragen zum Thema beantworten.

Und am Schluss können Globi und seine Freunde endlich den lang ersehnten Vanillepudding löffeln.

Within the entertaining framework of the book’s story, children find out many interesting and fascinating things about the rainforest and its inhabitants – animals, plants and insects. The Malagasy, Madagascar’s inhabitants, are also discussed.

Beautiful and authentic illustrations are accompanied by a wealth of information. This pocket book is also a travel guide, meaning it is meant to be carried around and used. It can be a companion when taking a walk in Masoala, or answer questions on the topic back home.

And in the end Globi and his friends get to eat the long-awaited vanilla pudding.

Daniel Müller schloss als wissenschaftlicher Zeichner an der HFG Zürich ab. Er illustriert regelmässig für verschiedene Printmedien und realisiert Szenerien für Ausstellungen und Schaufenster. Für dieses Buch ist er eigens in den Regenwald nach Masoala gereist.
