This issue, the first of two volumes of number 59 from the series "Faune de Madagascar", covers Malagasy amphipod crustaceans in the families Acanthonotozomatidae, Ampeliscidae, Amphilochodae, Amphithoidae, Anamixida, Argissidae, Biancolinidae, Colomastigidae, Corophiidae, Dexaminidae, Eusiridae, and Gammeridae. These 12 families comprise 77 genera and 195 species plus 9 forms. There are 46 new species and one new subspecies described. Whilst the full text is in French, most of the keys to species/genera are also given in English. The volume includes 226 black-and-white figures.
