Banknote
A Malagasy banknote issued by Banque de Madagascar to the value of 10 francs. On the front is depicted corn stalks and a Malagasy woman with a platter of fruits and vegetables, and on the reverse, more fruit and a farmer using zebu to plough a field. There is a watermark of a girl's head in profile. This design dates back to 1926, but notes bearing these signatures (Controleur Général André Dejouany and Directeur Général Pierre Chaudin) were not introduced until 1937.
