This typed report was written by Quaker Overseas Volunteer Francis Hambly halfway through his nine-month visit to Madagascar in 1963. It summarises the geographical, historical and economic situation of the country, as well as presenting an overview of the churches, then goes into more detail about the town of Soavinandriana and the Friends school there, where he taught for most of his time in Madagascar.
