This issue of "BBC Wildlife" contains a six-page article about Ring-tailed Lemurs. The article (pp. 20-25), entitled "A Jewel in the Crown", is by Adrian Warren and is illustrated with five of the author's own photographs. It focuses primarily on the story of Sapphire, a young albino Ring-tailed Lemur. It was published to coincide with the broadcast of "A Lemur's Tale" – the story of Sapphire and his troop – shown on BBC2's "The Natural World".
There is also a full page (p. 21) about Madagascar in the pull-out travel supplement free with this issue. This guide to visiting Madagascar is written by Derek Schuurman and is illustrated with a photograph of baobabs at sunset by Gerald Cubitt.
