This issue of "Photo" showcases the black-and-white photography of Madagascar by Gian Paolo Barbieri. The six-page article (pp. 50-55), entitled "Souvenirs de Madagascar" [Memories of Madagascar], includes six images accompanied by text written by Michel Tournier. It was published to coincide with the publication of Barbieri's book "Madagascar" from the preface of which Tournier's text is taken.
