A late nineteenth-century edition of this novel by Daniel Defoe. It tells the tale of an Englishman, taken from a well-to-do family as a child and raised by gypsies, who eventually makes his way to sea. The book follows Singleton's crossing of Africa and his life as a pirate. At one point he becomes stranded with several shipmates on the shores of Madagascar.
