Monthly from Madagascar: Madagascar Fauna Group

The monthly newsletter of the Madagascar Fauna Group's in-country projects. The main focus of the update is recent news from Ivoloina Parc Zoologique and Betampona Reserve.

The update from Betampona reports that men have been arrested following the felling and theft of several Palisander trees in the reserve and that the longstanding problems of establishing a reliable telephone link appear to have been resolved. At Ivoloina there are two new arrivals – a pair of Greater Vasa Parrots (Coracopsis vasa) – and news that the park entrance prices have been increased.
